FROM THE HEART...
I am from a large military family. My daughter is currently serving in the US Navy and I have many military friends. I am also a veteran advocate and have an undeniable passion for our military men and women. It is because of my close association with veterans, that I have, unfortunately, attended many military funerals.
The last veteran’s funeral I attended was that of my brother-in-law, Ronald Lockart.
At the gravesite, I watched sadly as the military guard, with dignity, grace, and precision, folded the flag that was draped on his casket and handed it to my sister. As they spoke the ceremonious words….”On behalf of a grateful nation….” I was overcome with emotion.
I glanced down at the memorial card the funeral home provided. I realized then, that it was the only tangible memory of him that I possessed. I wished I had something more…
So, it is in Ron’s honor and the many veterans who proudly served our country that I created the Fallen Hero Coin (aka FHC) The coin is designed so that friends and relatives of a deceased veteran can own something tangible that is a dignified reminder of their loved one’s honorable service to our country.
The front of the coin proudly displays the folded flag. The Top border contains the words “THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND SACRIFICE” and the bottom border has inscribed “NEVER FORGOTTEN”
The back of the coin displays a smaller folded flag and the memorable words spoken to the closest surviving relative.
My hope is that The Fallen Hero Coin will give family members and friends an honorable remembrance of their loved ones for many years to come.
Thank you ALL,
Warren Carrancejie Jr.

Why a Fallen Hero Challenge Coin Is So Meaningfully Received
A challenge coin for a fallen service member is never just a piece of metal. For families and close friends who are living with loss, it becomes something they can hold when words fall short.
Here’s why it lands so differently than flowers, cards, or plaques.
1. It makes honor tangible
In military culture, a challenge coin is earned, not bought. It signifies belonging, service, and respect. When that tradition is extended to a family after a death, it says: his or her service is still recognized, still counted, still part of the unit.
For a spouse, parent, or best friend, that physical weight in the palm carries more than a speech. It’s proof that the sacrifice was seen and will not be filed away.
2. It gives grief a place to rest
Many families keep a folded flag in a case they rarely touch, or photos on a wall they walk past every day. A challenge coin is different — it’s small, private, and portable.
It can sit on a nightstand, be carried in a pocket on difficult anniversaries, or be held during a memorial service. It gives family members a physical reminder of the memories they shared with someone they love.

The "Thank you for your service and sacrifice" quote not only applies to the deceased veteran but to the friends and family members who "served" along with their loved one.
"Never Forgotten" is what family members and friends will do regardless of it written on a coin. We hope all Americans remember and honor all U.S. service mbemers.
